Here's why:
1. They made their own way to notice each other, one that didn't involve the cynical sentiments shared by the villagers.
Hinata never detest Naruto for the monster inside of him. She never felt the need to avoid him because of his mischief. She never minded his boldness that came across as an act of idiocy to others. His loudness might annoy others, but to Hinata that very loud shouts held so much bravery and kindness.
Naruto never saw Hinata as a weak family reject. In fact, he believed even that frightened-looking girl back in Chuunin exam preliminary had a hidden strength she didn't know was inside her. He was right. For every beating she took, she kept getting up. Others often mistook her shyness as fear, but Naruto knew better.
To put it simply, they are so different but at the same time so similar that they are able to understand each other, since both of them are essentially lonely people who are considered failures by those around them, desperate to be acknowledged and determine to prove themselves.
2. Naruto saved Hinata from her childhood misery
From a young age, her father trained Hinata to be a worthy heiress, only to be deemed a failure because she didn't met his expectations. She lost in a duel to determine the clan's heiress merely because she didn't have the heart to harm her little sister, Hanabi. She held no control over the incident that killed her uncle, Hisashi. Yet, she was being the target of Neji's misdirected anger and hostile attitude. Things wasn't so good either in the neighborhood, since she was prone to be bullied for having scary pupil-less eyes. Then, Naruto entered her life and turned it 180 degrees.
3. Hinata was always there, strong and steady, to give Naruto the emotional support he needed
Can you remember a time when Naruto telling someone that he wasn't sure about himself before a fight? The ONLY time I remember Naruto being like that is before his match against Neji in Chuunin exam final. He said that deep down he was still feeling like a loser, despite his usual bravado, and so he wasn't sure he could win against the genius Neji. And to whom did he admit that? Hinata.
Gotta love their shocked and blushing faces ♡ And at the end, Naruto turned his back before saying that he really liked person like Hinata. Aww.. Could it be because he was too shy to face her?
4. Hinata was willing to die for Naruto
The image above is the image of Hinata that will be forever engraved in my heart. It's the image of a woman who isn't afraid to die for the man she loves. She looked sad and relieved at the same time, sad because she might not be able see him again, relieved because now he knew what he means to her.
Hinata (to Naruto): "
